When will I know which puppy I'm paired with?
Puppies are matched at 7 weeks, we are using their weekly evaluations along with the information you have provided in your puppy form when making our decision on puppy placement. When puppies turn 7 weeks I reach out to everyone to schedule puppy pick up and you will know then who you are matched with. When placing your deposit it is with the understanding that we do not take coat color preference in consideration at all when making our final decision. Always do your research on the breed so you fully understand their energy level and what it takes to raise a Malinois. Each litter is different their parents bloodlines are different when reserving your spot on a specific litter make sure to call if you have questions so we can make sure you're on a litter best suited for what you're looking for in a Malinois. The day you pick up your puppy is a big change for them keep in mind puppies are babies they need time to transition in their new home. Always call if you have any concerns about your puppy.
Scheduling Puppy Pick Up Appointment
Puppies leave at 8 weeks of age it is your responsibility to respond to our calls and messages regarding your puppy. If you are unable to pick the puppy up we require full payment of the puppy by the day they turn 8 weeks plus any boarding or puppy starter fees. If you refuse to pay you are forfeiting your spot which we don't want so please make sure to communicate. We will not hold a puppy after 8 weeks if you have not scheduled pick up or paid your balance. I schedule appointments once puppies are 7 weeks usually Friday - Sunday if they turn 8 weeks on a week day I'll start the weekend before and the day they turn 8 weeks is the last day of pick ups. If we have made several attempts to contact you with no response we will then go to the next in line. We suggest sending a text at least a week before they turn 8 weeks confirming you 100% want the puppy and will pick up the puppy.

Air/Ground Shipping
To transport your puppy you can drive to our location 720 County Road 131 Gatesville, Texas 76528, or fly to the closest airports Austin Bergstrom Airport or Dallas/Fort Worth Airport You will need a soft zip up travel carrier if you are flying, bring a blanket or towel to place on your seat if you're driving especially long distance.

When You Bring Your Puppy Home
It is time to start prepping for your Maligator, puppy proofing your home and property anywhere you plan on taking your puppy needs to be safe and secure for them to run and play. We've rencently built our new facility and love it we also have a 8ft high deer fence around our entire 15 acres. If you are crate training we suggest putting the crate somewhere away from the bedrooms such as a laundry room or garage with good air flow. The first weeks are the hardest getting them used to the crate they will cry and howl invest in some good ear plugs for the whole family. Do not put the crate near anything they can pull inside the crate such as curtains. Put the crate in a dark room we've always had them near our washer & dryer so they would fall asleep nice. We do not suggest leaving your puppy in a crate longer then a typical bedtime or going for errands during the day their bladders are small and unable to hold for long. We do have a indoor boarding where we have the option to secure dogs inside but majority of our families use the metal wire puppy pens inside that are atleast 40 inches tall here's the link Amazon Puppy Pen We've have multiple sets that we connected together and atleast then they can walk around play with their toys and you can hang their water and food in a feeder so they won't knock it over you can also crate train if that's easier for you. This might sound excessive, but we have found installing a good camera system puts you at ease not having to worry. The Next Cams has a microphone that you can talk to them which is nice I use it daily and love it

Puppy Health & Vet Visits
Your puppy will leave up to date on all age appropriate vaccines & dewormings, which are outlined in your puppies health record. We ask that you continue with the puppies vaccine and deworming schedule.
Puppies should have received all vaccines including rabies at 16 weeks
We ask that you DO NOT bring your puppy anywhere without good reason until one week after their final vaccination
Public places such as (dog parks, pet stores, grooming salons, dog trails) do not always require to see a vaccine record.
We DO NOT warranty communicable diseases,we take precautions while your puppy is here to make sure they do not come in contact with any life threatening diseases.
We know that socialization is very important and we want your puppy to be well socialized.
There are many ways to do so without allowing them to run and play in areas you don’t know are sanitized.
Invite friends & family over to meet your puppy just make sure to sanitize floors before and after, parvovirus can be easily tracked in on the bottom of shoes.
If you want to bring your puppy somewhere so they can see other people hold the puppy or put the puppy in a carrier, wagon, something where they can not walk on the ground.
We DO NOT warranty injury, please make sure to not put your puppy up on high areas such as (the back of trucks, high beds, porches or anywhere left un supervised) that they can fall off or attempt to jump.
Puppy growth plates are not closed until at least 12 months of age and jumping on open growth plates can cause long term damage.
We DO NOT warranty a puppies temperment, you know you are bringing home a Malinois aka Maligator please do not take this lightly, do plenty of research on the breed. You will be more successful at correcting and redirecting unwanted behavior if you truly understand the breed as they are highly intelligent.

Microchips, Vaccinations, & Dewormings
Puppies are De-Wormed every 2 weeks with Pyrantel & Ponazuril which cover all worms and prevent intestinal parasites. They receive the Nobivac Puppy-DPv Vaccine at 7-8 weeks which will be outlined on your Puppy Health Record. We microchip all puppies with (Pro ID Mini Chip™) The mini chip is universally read by all scanners and registration cards are included. Puppies are then transferred to our outside facility where they receive plenty of Environmental Imprinting as well as Socialization.
Giardia is very common in puppies. It's one of the most common intestinal parasites affecting dogs, and puppies are particularly vulnerable due to their developing immune systems. Younger puppies, especially those under six months, are at higher risk of showing symptoms of infection. When puppies are here we treat them weekly and then it is your responsibility to continue deworming and making sure your puppy is clear of all parasites so that they do not have symtoms such as diarrhea
Health & Hip Warranty
Our puppies have a Lifetime Congenital Health & Defect Warranty, along with a 30 month Hip & Elbow warranty, which will be outlined in your Breeders Contract. They also receive all age appropriate vaccinations and dewormings while they are here. It is then your responsibility to complete the entire round of puppy vaccinations including Bordetella and rabies. We suggest that you do this before taking your puppy to any public places such as a pet stores and dog parks. We do not warranty communicable diseases, please be cautious where you take your puppy before they are fully vaccinated.
AKC Registration
All puppies come with Full AKC Registration which will be included in your puppy folder. When registering your puppy make sure to carry our kennel name ( you must put " LoneStar's " in front of your puppies chosen name to not void your warranty.)

Owner Surrender Policy
Malinois can be a tough breed to raise if you do not already have hands on experience and we fully understand at times you may have no choice but to re home your puppy. At times if we have space we will accept puppies back with understanding the dog is not to be altered (Spayed or Neutered) or have any aggressive issues they need to be in good physical health and we do require their AKC and current Health Records. It takes time and money to house, feed, vet, train the dog so it is ready to transition into a new home as long as the dog is unaltered with no aggression and in good physical and mental health there's a good chance of re homing them. We do suggest trying everything you can before making this decision since it takes a tole on them emotionally moving home to home. Contact me with any questions (254) 226-5858
